What to Expect From Your Lawyers: Clarity, Confidence and Trusted Counsel
March 27, 2026It was an honour to attend the meeting between the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce delegation and its Sydney Representative Office, alongside members of the Cambodian–Australian business community.
The Cambodian delegation was led by Oknha Phou Veasna, Vice-President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and President of the Battambang Chamber of Commerce. The meeting was hosted by Mr Khun Sen, Head of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce Representative Office in Sydney.
Our discussions focused on strengthening business and trade relations between Cambodia and Australia, expanding professional networks, creating new market opportunities and connecting Cambodian enterprises with potential Australian business and investment partners.
As Managing Director/Principal Solicitor of MLC Lawyers and a member of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce in Sydney, I was particularly pleased to hear about the opportunities ahead and the important role that professional advisers and the Cambodian–Australian business community can play in supporting cross-border business relationships.
Strong commercial relationships are built through trust, mutual understanding and continued collaboration. The Sydney Representative Office provides an important bridge for promoting Cambodia’s economic potential and helping businesses from both countries identify meaningful opportunities.
Thank you to the delegation, the Sydney Representative Office and everyone who contributed to this valuable discussion. I look forward to supporting closer commercial, professional and community connections between Cambodia and Australia.
